OZARK HIGHLANDS TRAIL SECTION 2 | ARKANSAS OUTDOORS PHOTOGRAPHER
Last weekend, I went with my lovely wife and our pup and headed out to hike section two of the Ozark Highlands Trail. We hiked it backwards, going from the Cherry Bend Trailhead to White Rock Mountain, which is about a 20 mile route.
Every time I get to go on the OHT, it just feels good. Add on top of that that we got to experience it right on the last weekend of peak fall colors in the Ozarks, and it was icing on the cake. The OHT is an Arkansas treasure. It's rare you can go into the woods, on a developed trail, and feel like you have the place to yourself. We didn't see a single person on Saturday, and loved every minute of it. Even though we had to "sleep" through a thunderstorm, we saw some beautiful scenes, got some good excercise, and gave Nova, our Aussie, a chance to run.
Here are some shots taken with my Fuji X-T2, which is my preferred 'lightweight' backpacking camera.
